Dawson's weekly updates:
Your baby's growing tower of babble indicates movement toward talking, although the ability to form words and sentences is still many months away. You may hear the same syllable repeated over and over with variations in pitch and tone. Or he may make more complicated sounds, such as two or even three different syllables strung together. Your baby is experimenting with them like a musician testing out a new instrument.
Your baby can now roll over from his tummy to his back and vice versa. This may even occur when he's sleeping. Although back sleeping is still the optimal position, and the one you should start him out in when you lay him down, don't worry too much if your baby flips over -- there's no need to reposition as he sleeps. Your baby's risk of SIDS is decreasing at this age.
It's amazing to see him growing up right before our eyes. He is moving around so well in his walker these days! He's so much fun to play with. He started working on his coordination by playing ball with us yesterday. He has a blow up ball about the size of a basketball. He thinks its funny to push it off of his walker to see if mommy or daddy is going to give it back to him. He's also starting to become curious about the things around him. And sadly, I have to admit our home is still not baby proof! I just can't seem to find the time to do it. I'm hopeing to start working on it a little at a time this week. Any pointers would be great!!!
This weekend we are going to travel to Alexandria for Em's birthday! Can't wait to see the Deans again. Sunday we have another birthday party. I guess we're going to be partying all weekend long. Hopefully the summer cold I've had for the past few days will be gone by then. I despise being sick.
Until then, have a wonderful week!
God Bless,
Lori
