Dawson's weekly update:

"Ball," "dog," and "bye" may be your child's favorite — and only — words at this point, though some early talkers may have as many as 20 words in their vocabulary. Maybe he uses the words at the right time for the right things, or maybe he says "dog" when he sees other furry animals with tails. Don't be discouraged — that's an indication that he's learning to group things together. Just say the correct word in a matter-of-fact tone ("That's a horse, honey; horses are bigger than dogs"), and he'll soon pick it up.

Dawson is becoming more verbal these days. His latest words are "Baby, Mamaw, and Papaw." Dawson is becoming more and more loving. He now loves to give kisses and hugs. One of the girls at the daycare told me that yesterday she was holding a 6 month old little girl, Gracelynn, on her knee. Gracelynn is always smiling and giggling at Dawson. The girl from the daycare said Gracelynn smiled at him, and he came up to her to give her a hug! The girl at the daycare said, "Aww!" So Dawson gave her one, too! :-) My sweet little man. He is too cute!

Dawson is very head strong. Even when he gets into things he's not supposed to, he seems like the consequences aren't high enough. We don't spank him, because honestly it doesn't get through to him. He is a socialite, so putting him in time out away from everyone is punishment enough. He is beginning to realize that we mean what we say, but he still tests the waters every time he can!

Dawson is still part mountain goat, squirrel, and even maybe monkey. He loves climbing, running, and horseplay. He enjoys watching me cook, and now understands what the microwave is. When he hears it going he runs up to it and tries to see what's inside.

I can't believe my little one is growing up so fast!
